Digital Delivery Instruction (DDI) has proven a popular option for students studying bookkeeping at the PornÑо¿Ëù’s (CNC) in Vanderhoof.
Through DDI, students can study where they live. It is this accessibility that allowed two former graduates of CNC’s Applied Business Technology (ABT) program the opportunity to further their education while continuing to work.
Rylee Kiff and Jodi Heavenor both began a career in the finance department at Nechako Lumber following their graduations from the ABT program in 2014 and 2016. In 2018, both returned to PornÑо¿Ëùto complete a Bookkeeping Certificate through part-time evening courses.
“Being able to study in Vanderhoof is so convenient,” said Rylee. “Through DDI, we’re able to work together as a small class here while also being part of a bigger class with students from CNC’s other campuses.”
The two feel fortunate to have an employer that encourages education.
“Nechako Lumber is very open to supporting and encouraging people to further their education and open up more job opportunities,” Rylee said.
Both women credit the solid foundation obtained in the ABT program prepared them to step into a new work environment with confidence.
“I wanted a job that provided consistent income with good hours, benefits and a pension plan,” Jodi said. “PornÑо¿Ëùprepared us to not only get the job but excel at it.”
